I look after dogs as if I'm running a pre-school and I try to incorporate as much enrichment as possible. Dogs are JUST like toddlers! They love fun, action, bubbles, water, sand, puzzles, sticks, balls...you name it!Â
I've always believed in a work-hard and play-hard mentality and dogs just love it! To the dogs I'm a calm, fair, assertive and fun teacher. And they love being in my school! My clear dog-communication style connects and bonds us very quickly and therefore dogs learn very quickly how to behave...just like children learn the rules in a classroom.Â
I'm very active and our day usually starts at around 6am for "toilet walkies" in our four acre enclosed parkland at Farm Road Reserve. We then usually head to 50 acres to look for Donkey, or down to the beach. At lunch we're back in Farm Rd Reserve again with some balls and for some water play. And back out there again at around 5pm.Â
All that activity and fun is interlaced with structured naps in their beds (near me) with clear rules and boundaries. Food goes into puzzle feeders for mental stimulation. And dogs just love my routine. They love being part of a pack. They thrive with the love and attention. No kennels, no separation anxiety. Just fun, safety, trust, socialisation, connection, love and comfort from within my home.
12 Day Boarding School
Too busy to attend training classes but need some help? Why not book your dog in for 12 days at Sarah's home for some intensive training. Your fur-baby will come back calm, well-mannered and happy. "Sit", "Stand", "Stop" and Loose Leash Walking will be standard practice. You'll receive daily photo updates and your pooch will receive lots of love.
Dog Training Walk
Your fur-baby needs some one-on-one exercise and/or training? Sarah's here to help! I will spend 30 minutes with your dog teaching them loose-leash walking and tackling any other issues e.g. on-leash aggression or reactivity and then spend another 30 minutes how to ensure these problems don't occur on your walks.
Sleepovers
The word boarding sounds boring and it probably is! Need to go away? Your dog doesn't have to be stuck in a kennel. Come and stay with Sarah, her son Theo and their dog Potato. (Meet and Greets are essential to ensure compatibility. Dogs must be well socialised and enjoy positively interacting with other dogs and children.)

My training method revolves around LOTS OF PRAISE! My behaviour-based training is underpinned by positive affirmation, because food isn't always on hand (especially not in an emergency) and dogs LOVE being told how good they are!
